Old Havana

Old Havana (La Habana Vieja) is the core of the original city of Havana, which is the richest collection of colonial architecture in Latin America . The location of the old city walls coincides with the boundaries of Old Havana, which houses about 3,000 historic buildings.

Old Havana was included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in America in 1982.  Old Havana, with its narrow streets and protruding balconies, is a traditional residential area, as well as the center of a section of shops and the entertainment industry.

Fabrica De Arte Cubano

Fábrica de Arte Cubano is a great laboratory of interdisciplinary creation that exposes the best of contemporary Cuban art, with a marked social and community focus. An old oil factory transformed into a generalist space that is open to exchange between the various artistic manifestations that coexist in the same building.

Fábrica de Arte Cubano is an artistic project driven by the need to rescue, support and promote the work of artists from all branches of art: film, music, dance, theater, plastic arts, photography, fashion, graphic design and architecture.

Old Square (Plaza Vieja)

The Plaza Vieja is a square located in La Habana Vieja, Cuba, one of the seven municipalities that make up the city of Havana. The name of the square was originally Plaza Nueva (“New Square”).

It emerged as an open space in 1559, after Plaza de Armas and Plaza de San Francisco. In colonial times it was a Creole residential neighborhood,  today it is a popular tourist destination.

Plaza Vieja was the place where death sentences, trials, bull fights were carried out, and where various popular holidays were celebrated. The complex urban architecture of Plaza Vieja can be found in the fine colonial buildings of the 17., 18. and 19. centuries.

El Capitolio

The National Capitol of Havana is a building built in 1929. in Havana (Cuba) under the direction of the architect Eugenio Raynieri Piedra, commissioned by the then Cuban president Gerardo Machado. It is inspired by the Pantheon in Paris, St. Paul in London and the United States Capitol, the building features a neoclassical columnar façade and a dome that reaches 91.73 m in height.

Open to the public, it is one of the most visited tourist centers of the city, having become one of the architectural icons of Havana and is usually considered the most imposing building in the city.

Playas de Este

Famous for its spectacular white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters, Cuba’s beaches are free of crowds and full of tranquility.

After an intense tour of the colonial neighborhoods of Havana, a day (or at least half a day) on the beach completes the ideal combination to relax the body and the senses.

The eastern beaches are very close to the capital of Cuba; a 30-minute taxi ride takes you to several delightful beaches flanked by palm trees. A few mini beach malls and private restaurants offer snacks and refreshments.
