The largest air terminal in the Netherlands is Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport, which opened on September 16, 1916. It is also one of Europe’s busiest airports in terms of passengers and freight. It has international flights all over the world.

Can you spend the night at the airport?
Amsterdam Airport is one of the busiest on the European continent, since it is a center for many routes to and from other continents in addition to direct flights. Many passengers have connecting or direct flights early in the morning. Many passengers stay inside the facilities while waiting for their flights. The Amsterdam airport, like every other busy airport, is bright and noisy, so bring earplugs, an eye mask, and a blanket or warm clothing with you, as it gets cold at night.

Some fast food restaurants, cafes, and bars are open 24 h.
Where to rest?
Many of the seats in the Departures area lack armrests. A forest-like green area with comfortable seating for lounging is located near room D. In addition, there is an internet kiosk with padded chairs and benches situated between rooms E and F. In the public area, there are comfortable seats in a cafeteria situated in the terminal’s left sector. Inside the terminal, there are some VIP lounges, but they close at night. On the other hand, there are a few hotels both inside and outside the main building.

Passengers with disabilities
Reserved parking spaces, accessible counters, elevators, escalators, moving walkways, wheelchairs, modified toilets, automatic doors, electric passenger vehicles, and an elevator to board the plane are some of the amenities. Please contact your airline or travel agency when making your reservation if you need special assistance.

Access by taxi
Metered private and shared taxis are available 24 hours a day in front of Schiphol Plaza. There are also executive taxis that have a higher level of comfort. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the center of Amsterdam. The price to the center of Amsterdam is around 50 euros.
Access by bus
The venue is close to several major highways, making it convenient to travel to any place within the city using public transportation. There are also regional bus services operated by a number of private companies that travel to various locations in Ontario as well as to some US cities such as Buffalo and Detroit.
Stops and counters can be located on the ground floor of Terminal 1 and the Arrivals stage of Terminal 3.
Uber
If you request an Uber instead, the waiting room is located in the Arrivals area, exit door B. Estimated fares to Amsterdam’s city center start at € 30.
Access by train
From 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., the Union Pearson Express runs every 15 minutes to Union Station in downtown Toronto. The journey takes 25 minutes and includes stops in Weston and Bloor. Both terminals have customer service counters on the international arrivals floor.
The YotelAir Amsterdam Schiphol Transit Hotel is located in the transit area, while the Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal is located on the first floor of hall 3. The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, and the CitizenM Schiphol Airport, have covered walkways linking them to the terminal.
