Can you spend the night at the airport?
Passengers who have a connecting flight or a flight that departs at dawn or early in the morning will have no trouble spending the night at Frankfurt International Airport. It is open 24 hours a day and offers a variety of services during the night.
Are there places to drink and eat 24 hours?
Both terminals have convenience stores, bars, and fast food restaurants open 24 hours a day.
Where to rest?
Lounge B is open 24 hours a day in Terminal 1 (lounges A, C, and Z are normally closed), and the most appropriate location in Terminal 2 is on the second floor. Since most seats in Terminal 1 have metal armrests, they are not the safest places to rest. However, in Terminal 2’s Arrivals section, there are seats without armrests, which are suitable for resting using two or three of them. Another choice is to use the yoga rooms, which are open 24 hours a day and are located near gates C14-C16 and D1-D4. It’s a good idea to bring a mask and earplugs with you because the airport is loud even at night. If you must sleep on the floor, bring a blanket with you because it is typically a cold place.
In the case of passengers in transit who are already in the boarding area, there are “Leisure Zones,” relaxing areas with more comfortable armchairs, suitable for resting, close to gates A26, A50, B43, and D1-4.
A transit hotel is located in Terminal 1, and three additional hotels are located within the terminal.
Showers are available at Frankfurt airport
Showers are available for a small fee in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. This service is also available in the VIP lounges.
Passengers with disabilities
Ramps, elevators, automatic doors, modified toilets and telephones, and reserved parking spaces are among the amenities. There is a special Lufthansa check-in area for unaccompanied children in hall B. These will be escorted by personnel of the corresponding airline from the check-in area to the boarding gate, and from the baggage claim room to departure.
Passengers who need special assistance should contact their airline or travel agent at least 48 hours before their scheduled flight.
Is there a luggage storage service?
There is an office open 24 hours a day in Terminal 1’s hall B where you can leave your suitcases and rest easier without having to keep an eye on them. The other offices close at 10:00 p.m. and do not reopen until the early hours of the morning.
Does Frankfurt airport have free Wi-Fi?
Free and unrestricted. There are also USB ports and power outlets for charging mobile devices.
Other services
ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, children’s play areas, baby changing facilities, prayer rooms, lounges, smoking rooms, yoga rooms, and game rooms are only a few of the amenities available.
Connection between the airport and the city: Frankfurt Airport offers public transportation, licensed taxis, buses, private transfer companies, and car rental.
Access by taxi
Vehicles are located outside all terminals and the long-distance train station 24 hours a day. Depending on traffic, the ride to the city center takes 20-30 minutes.
Access by bus
The stops are in front of Terminal 1’s Arrivals level and Terminal 2’s Level 2. RMV services are available. The journey to the city center takes about 25 minutes and costs € 4.95.
Lufthansa provides transportation to and from Strasbourg and Heidelberg.
Both terminals are connected to Darmstadt station by the HEAG mobiBus AirLiner service, which takes about 30 minutes and costs € 8.75.
BOHR provides trips to Hahn (€ 19.00) and Luxembourg (€ 34.00). Flixbus offers low-cost trips all over the country, with a stop at Terminal 1, P36.
Access by train
A regional train station is located on level 0 of Terminal 1 and a long-distance train station is located on floor 3 of the AIRail station.
Frankfurt Central Station is served by RMV lines S8, S9, RE59, and RE75. The journey takes 15 minutes and tickets cost €4.95 each. Wiesbaden, Mainz, Kastel, Opelwerk, Rüsselsheim, and Kelsterbach are among the other destinations.
Deutsche Bahn runs trains to a variety of destinations in Germany and Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, and Zurich.
Terminal 1 is served by the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center, Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport, and Hilton Frankfurt Airport hotels, while the My Cloud Transit Hotel is located in the building’s transit area (only for passengers heading to non-Schengen countries). There are several options nearby, some of which include complimentary shuttle service.
